At Disenfranchised Writers’ Voices (DWV), we provide essential resources, funding, and mentorship to help low- and limited-income writers bring their stories to life. Our programs are designed to break down financial barriers and create opportunities for every writer to share their voice with the world:
1. Publishing Grants/Scholarships: We offer financial assistance to help cover self-publishing costs, ensuring that talented writers aren’t held back by financial limitations. Grants are awarded based on need and the potential impact of the writer’s work. You can find the guidelines here.

2. Educational Workshops: Our free or low-cost workshops cover key aspects of writing and publishing, including writing techniques and storytelling, navigating self-publishing platforms, marketing and author branding, and building a readership.
3. Mentorship Program: We pair aspiring writers with experienced authors, editors, and industry professionals who provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the publishing process.
4. Resource Library: Our online collection of tools, templates, and guides helps writers navigate self-publishing with confidence. From manuscript formatting to marketing checklists, we provide the resources needed to succeed.
5. Annual Anthology: Each year, DWV publishes a professionally curated anthology featuring selected works from low-income and disabled writers. This collection amplifies voices that deserve to be heard and provides authors with valuable publishing experience.
